Biography
Zucan Abiola Bandele, Prince of Animals, born on the first day of a new year away from home (Al-Kebulan), Home is where the cosmic conscious spirit mind of the creator dwells. On my journey home, I'm on a quest to acquire an inner state of peace, justice and balance. My every thought, action, and deed will forever strive to manifest such a divine spirit state of conscious joy.
Hence I am dancing and painting. Dancing my way around the earth in time, sometimes out of time for over some 40+ years. Now performing professionally, I have been painting pictures with my body and mind. My mind's eye expresses the movements of my head, legs, hands and brush.
What I have done through my folkloric visual and performing art is to allow the creator, the ancestors, EgunGuns, the Jambull, Highlandels and Mcojumbee to epitomize my deeply held cultural values of what for me is the most beautiful expression of my art forms.
